Change Your Game: The New PMPA Education Foundation Website
Today we celebrate the launch of the new PMPA Education Foundation website featuring the “Change Your Game” video. This project was commissioned by our industry foundation to raise awareness of the rewarding career opportunities in machining, and manufacturing in general. For far too long, manufacturing has had a negative perception in the eyes of those unfamiliar with the rapid advances that have occurred in the last few decades, and we’re committed to changing the conversation. Please take a couple minutes to watch the video and share it with your local school district, friends, and family.
According to the United States Department of Labor, U.S. manufacturing accounts for 12.5% of U.S. GDP and employs 12 million workers (8.8 of total U.S. employment, and 16.3% in Wisconsin), with an estimated 364,000 Job Openings. Companies in our industries have been facing a significant skills gap, but through our combined efforts we can overcome the challenges. More than that, we can position our industry as an exciting place to have a rewarding career. The new PMPA Education Foundation website is a great vehicle to help us reinvigorate the manufacturing industry and educate others on what it means to be part of today’s Precision Machining Industry.
