Independence Day 2016

4thJuly-Social

This July 4th our nation celebrates 240 years of our independence from foreign rule. Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison, and others, were courageous patriots who put country above all else, and they saw a nation with potential for greatness. They imagined an America where the people had a deep sense of individualism and personal responsibility. Our founders set a standard, and if here today, they would find a kindred spirit in the visionaries and modern-day patriots who believe in hard work and perseverance.

In order for our nation to continue as a leader in industry and manufacturing, we must remember our history. From its beginning as an independent nation, our country has encouraged science and innovation. In fact, it is the birthplace of hundreds of some of the most important inventions: the airplane, internet, microchip, assembly line, personal computer, laser, and so many more. The urge to make and build is part of who we are as a country. We created what others could not and made great products everyone around the globe wanted. This greatness starts with a commitment to excellence, followed by the pursuit of education with a purpose, leading to doing and making great things. We at Precision Plus see a resurgence of technical education across our country, and are very excited to help foster renewed thinking.

From our young interns and apprenticeship students, to our education and industry partners, we foresee great things in the future. Precision Plus encourages you to urge the children in your life to learn more about the wonderful career opportunities in manufacturing. High school Technical Education classes are a great way to get started, and keep in mind all of the options when considering post-secondary school choices. Schools such as Gateway Technical College offer wonderful CNC Programmer and Production Technician programs that lead to rewarding careers. Advise young people to take advantage of apprenticeships and internships with companies in their area. If you own or have a career at a manufacturing company, make sure your organization is offering these programs; they are beneficial for all involved. We all need to be invested in tomorrow’s workforce – this next generation of revolutionaries.

So as we celebrate around the barbeque this 4th of July, let’s focus on a common goal of strengthening our nation. Science, technology, and industry are what shaped this country’s past economic success, as well as our cultural identity. Let’s set the stage, once more, for technological change and growth. This Independence Day, may we all recognize how blessed we are to be Americans and the freedoms we enjoy. Precision Plus wishes you and your family a Safe and Happy 4th of July!
