  • 3-5 years setting up CNC Swiss turning equipment (5-axis and up) and CNC lathes; experience with PartMaker, Esprit CAM software, or AutoCAD Inventor 3D Modeling Software a plus

Under the direction of the Production Manager and working on the manufacturing floor with the production team, the Applications Engineer’s primary responsibility is to implement machine setups of specific jobs with process and tooling plans as established by the lead Applications Engineer. Additionally, this position is responsible for: trouble shooting and correcting (repairing) process results that are outside the control requirements; collaborating with Engineering Team for continuous improvement of process and tooling plans; and assisting, guiding and mentoring other technicians in the department.

Required Skills:

  • Proven track record in setup and operation of a wide variety of CNC Swiss turning equipment, particularly Tsugami and Hanwha
  • Demonstrated competency in various materials, tooling and processes with the ability to edit existing programs and offsets
  • Solid blueprint reading skills including GD & T
  • In-process inspection skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical skills including trigonometry and basic statistics
  • Understanding of metric and English units of measurement
  • Ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and solve problems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral (reading, writing, speaking and listening)
