Phil Reader Wins Pillar Among Peers Award After Record Nominations

andrea

Precision Plus launched a Pillar Among Peers award in January of 2021. The award process begins when employees submit recognition ballots of nomination for their peers within the company. The nominee must have displayed some behavior of the company’s core values throughout the month. Those foundational values are Empowerment, Respect, Integrity, and Innovation.

After Chief Operating Officer, Dave Strand, receives the nominations for the month, management will consider other attributes that may be needed to prevent favoritism and protect the integrity of the Work of Winners Culture the company embraces. Those might include but are not limited to attendance, attitude, production results, etc. During the monthly company meetings, all nominees are announced and receive a spin on the popular WOW prize wheel. The meeting finale is the announcement of the Pillar award recipient.

Dave Strand announced at the October meeting that Phil Reader received a record number of nominations since the inception of the award. A flood of nominations from employees were received all month expressing gratitude for everything from Phil opening the door at 3:30 am every morning to his passion and willingness to help anyone in a time of need.

“This is an incredible testament of love and respect that still exists for the man that purchased this company in 1988 and continues to open the door each morning at 3:30 am. Phil gives the passionate employees here at Precision Plus everything he has every day!” ~ Dave Strand

Today, three generations of the Reader family work at Precision Plus: CEO Phil Reader, Owner and President, Mike J. Reader, VP of Engineering, Mike P. Reader, and Production Control Coordinator, Ryan Reader.

A Note From Michael Reader

Off to a Great Start, but We’re Not Done Yet

June 29th, 2021 (Elkhorn, WI) – I was optimistic coming into 2021, but am completely blown away by the group effort and teamwork I have seen. To say we’ve had an outstanding year thus far is a complete understatement. I am so proud of the collective efforts of everyone at Precision Plus, which does not happen without good vision and even better execution by great people.

Precision Plus Announces New Peer-Based Employee Recognition Program: Pillar Among Peers

Precision Plus

In late 2013, discussion ensued among Precision Plus leadership to define the Precision Plus mission and vision statement, which evolved into developing the “Four Pillars” of Precision Plus. The “Four Pillars” were created to represent the cultural foundation at Precision Plus, also referred to as the Plus. The four pillars or attributes most critical were determined to be:

Manufacturing Day Open House 2019

Precision Plus

Winter is coming. Or rather, it has arrived.

The Precision Plus team closed out October, also known as Manufacturing Month, with a snowstorm. When I was young, receiving 6 inches of snow at the end of October was fun, but not so much anymore. Let’s hope this is not a sign of what the rest of the season has in store for us.

Recognizing Veterans Day 2019

Precision Plus

This Monday, November 11th, we recognize Veterans Day – one of the most significant days in our country, set aside to honor those who have served in the United States armed forces and to thank them for their sacrifices. Precision Plus is proud to employ veterans and support veteran organizations in recognition of their dedication to the values of honor, courage, and commitment. We are proud of and thank the following team members for their service:

Precision Plus Employee Appreciation Picnic

Precision Plus

Work hard, play hard. Our team sure works hard, so Precision Plus recently held an Employee Appreciation Picnic, so everyone could have some fun, as well. This was a wonderful event, for our team members and their families. Friday, August 23rd was a memorable afternoon of food, fun, and camaraderie.

Precision Plus European Tour 2019

Precision Plus

Created over 85 years ago, the Precision Machines Products Association (PMPA) represents the interests of the precision machined products industry and has played a key role in the journey. Our trade association is comprised of industry leaders who understand that having an active and strong manufacturing history is vital to the overall strength and stability of our economy. I was also recently honored to be formally elected PMPA’s president. https://www.productionmachining.com/articles/pmpa-welcomes-michael-reader-as-its-new-president With approximately 430 members across the United State and Canada, the PMPA attributes the success of the association to its members and their ongoing involvement at all levels. Furthermore, we continue to work closely with our European counterparts in Germany, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, France, and Switzerland.

2019 – A Review of the First Six Months

Precision Plus

It’s hard to believe that we have already celebrated Independence Day this summer, and the first half of the year is behind us. For those of us in the Midwest, constant rainfall and cooler than normal temperatures left many a farmer scrambling to get crops in the field. I cannot recall such a rotten spring for planting, and I suspect the farmers are thinking the same. I am certain this will have an impact on grain prices come the fall harvest.

Celebrating with Precision Plus

Precision Plus

It is hard to believe, but the holiday season is already here! With the incredibly busy last few months that Precision Plus experienced, it is easy to feel as if fall flew by in the blink of an eye, and suddenly winter is upon us. In addition to sponsoring Operation Exploration IMTS 2018 in September and hosting many visitors during October for Manufacturing Month, there were a few additional exciting events that occurred within the organization.
